High-Speed Sortation Equipment for Parcel Operations

Modern parcel sortation demands equipment capable of processing thousands of packages per hour with pinpoint accuracy. Cross-belt sorters, tilt-tray systems, and bomb-bay sorters each offer distinct advantages for different package profiles, throughput requirements, and destination counts.

Our sortation equipment portfolio includes high-speed cross-belt sorters for maximumthroughput, gentle tilt-tray systems for fragile items, and bomb-bay sorters for bulk operations. We engineer complete sortation systems with induction stations, scanning arrays, and chute configurations optimized for your specific package mix and sort requirements.

Challenges Facing Parcel Operations Today

Volume Spikes Overwhelm Manual Sorting

Peak season surges strain manual sortation, causing carrier cutoff misses, overtime costs, and service failures precisely when customers need reliability most.

Mis-Sorts Reaching Final Mile

Manual sorting errors send packages to the wrong carriers or delivery zones, generating re-routing charges, service failures, and customer escalations.

Inaccurate Dimensional Weight Capture

Manual or estimated DIM weight data leads to carrier billing disputes and revenue leakage—accurate in-motion measurement is essential at scale.

Throughput Can't Keep Pace with Growth

As e-commerce volumes climb, operations built on manual processes hit hard throughput ceilings that cannot be overcome by adding more headcount.

How Modern Parcel Sortation Works

A high-performance parcel sortation system begins at the induction station, where packages enter the system individually on a merge conveyor. As each package passes through a scan-weigh-measure portal, barcode scanners read shipping labels in any orientation while dimensioning cameras capture length, width, and height — all in under a second.

The sortation controller uses that data to assign every package a destination lane in real time. On a cross-belt sorter, each carrier cell independently drives its belt to gently discharge packages to the correct chute. Tilt-tray systems work similarly but tilt individual trays todivert packages. Both handle thousands of packages per hour with better than 99.9% accuracy — without the fatigue-related errors that affect manual teams.

Is High-Speed Sortation Right for Your Operation?

Strong Fit When…

  • You process 50,000+ packages per day or are scaling toward that volume
  • You ship to multiple carriers and require 20+ sort destinations
  • Dimensional weight accuracy is critical for carrier billing optimization
  • You're missing carrier cutoffs due to sortation throughput limits
  • Peak season volume is 2× or more your average daily volume
  • Labor availability and cost are constraints on your growth

Consider Alternatives When…

  • Volume is consistently below 10,000 packages per day
  • You have just 2–3 sort destinations (a divert conveyor may suffice)
  • Package shapes are highly irregular — oversized items need different induction
  • Sortation is already a strength and fulfillment is the bottleneck instead
