Creating Efficient Material Flow

FloStor's conveyor and sortation systems serve as the backbone of efficient material handling operations, connecting workstations, processes, and areas within your facility. Our systems are engineered to deliver reliable performance, exceptional throughput, and seamless integration with your existing operations, all while providing the flexibility to adapt to your changing business needs.

Is Manual Handling Slowing You Down?

Order volumes have outgrown your team's ability to sort and route product manually

Mis-sorts and errors are increasing labor costs and impacting customer satisfaction

Peak season demand creates bottlenecks at manual sort points

Inconsistent product flow between workstations is limiting throughput capacity

How Conveyor & Sortation Systems Work

A conveyor system moves product through your facility automatically — from receiving docks to storage, pick stations, packing, and shipping — eliminating manual cart pushes and reducing travel time per unit.

A sortation system adds intelligent routing: as items travel the conveyor, scanners read barcodes or RFID tags and divert each item to the correct destination (a shipping lane, a packing station, a returns chute) at speeds ranging from 40 to 300+ cartons per minute depending on the sorter type.

FloStor engineers the full system — conveyor layout, sorter selection, zone controls, and WMS integration — to match your specific product mix, throughput targets, and facility constraints.

Advanced Sortation Systems

Our sortation systems combine mechanical precision with intelligent controls to accurately direct items to specific destinations at high speeds. From simple diverters to sophisticated high-speed sorters, we design solutions that meet your throughput requirements and accuracy standards.

Pop-Up Wheel Sorters

Featuring retractable wheels that rise to divert products at 30° or 45° angles. Ideal for medium-speed applications handling totes, cartons, and cases with flat bottoms.

Sliding Shoe Sorters

High-speed sortation technology using angled shoes to gently push products onto diverts while maintaining orientation. Perfect for high-throughput operations handling diverse products.

Narrow Belt Sorters

Multiple narrow belts with perpendicular divert mechanisms for precise, high-speed sortation of small to medium-sized items with consistent bottoms.

Cross-Belt Sorters

Individual carriers with belts moving perpendicular to the flow direction, providing gentle, accurate sortation of irregularly shaped items at high speeds.

Tilt-Tray Sorters

Carriers with trays that tilt to discharge products at sortation points. Excellent for handling diverse product sizes and shapes with high accuracy and throughput.

Bomb Bay Sorters

Features bottom-opening carriers for precise vertical dropping of products at sortation points. Ideal for applications requiring gentle handling and precise placement.

For operations requiring fully automated outbound flows, sortation systems integrate with AGV and robotic systems to eliminate manual touches end-to-end.

When Conveyor & Sortation Systems Make Sense

When They Make Sense

  • Daily shipment volume exceeds what manual sort can handle accurately
  • You ship diverse SKUs to many destinations (20+ sort lanes needed)
  • Sort accuracy errors are creating customer service costs
  • Labor is the constraint limiting throughput growth
  • You need to scale peak capacity without proportionally increasing headcount

When Manual or Other Solutions May Be Better

  • Volume is under ~200 orders/day (manual sort remains cost-effective)
  • Product mix is too irregular in size or weight for automated divert
  • Floor layout cannot accommodate conveyor footprint
  • Operation is highly seasonal with short peaks (lease or contract options may apply)

Integrated Control Systems
